Kids' English
These courses tailored at primary school students are organised for three age group categories:
- Grade Zero
- Grades I – III
- Grade IV
Grade Zero
At this age, children are fully prepared to face the literacy process, which is why the course includes word recognition activities, writing letters and even copying words and matching them to pictures.
English language learning happens through play and the children are involved in activities based on songs, stories, poems and role play. The teaching materials rely mostly on visuals, but they also include other resources, such as writing worksheets, handmade objects (especially from recycled materials), puppets, toys etc.
Grades I – III
During this stage of their cognitive development, children are ready to sit examinations, which is why a significant part of the course is dedicated to Cambridge English YLE Starters and Movers preparation, according to the students' age and language level.
Starting from the idea that language development is the key to success in any test, this is the main aim of the course and exam practice is gradually added. However, through all the activities, such as “matching”, “sentence completion”, “labelling", as well as through sentence or paragraph writing activities, children become familiar with YLE task types.
Grade IV - YLE Preparation
At this age, children can understand abstract concepts, so they will start to study some grammatical rules, which are highly contextualised, in order to become relevant for their life experience.
The course combines English language learning with preparation for the Cambridge English YLE Flyers, approaching the learning process through play and other activities characteristic to their age.
The duration of the course is of an entire school year, with weekly sessions of 1.5 hours, except for school and bank holidays.
The Cambridge English YLE Flyers test is recognised by the Ministry of Education for admission to 5th grade intensive English classes.
